SplitUp ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Account information: your name, email address, username, and profile photo.
• Content you create: posts, comments, expense plans, and group data you add to the app.
• Device information: we collect your device token for push notifications if you grant permission.

If you sign in with Apple, we receive the information you choose to share (name and email, which may be a private relay address).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To enable expense splitting, social features, and friend connections.
• To send push notifications about activity relevant to you (friend requests, plan updates).
• To display your profile to other users so they can find and connect with you.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication). Data is stored in data centers operated by Google and protected by their security practices. For more information, see Firebase Privacy and Security.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Your data is only shared with:

• Other SplitUp users: your display name, username, profile photo, and public posts are visible to other authenticated users.
• Firebase/Google: as our infrastructure provider for authentication and data storage.

5. Your Rights

You can:

• Access and edit your profile information at any time within the app.
• Delete your account permanently from the Profile screen. This removes your authentication credentials and all associated Firestore data.
• Control notifications by toggling push notifications in the app settings or your device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

SplitUp is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Tracking

SplitUp does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use advertising identifiers or third-party analytics.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
